The Mangusta is certainly one of the first “real” sea rods with a length of 5 m. Too often in fact, those who were looking for a long lever for sea fishing had to fall back on more or less powerful bolognese rods made with reel holders of insufficient strength and rings unsuitable for diameter and quality, without considering the very bad action in loading. With Mangusta, on the other hand, you will have a long rod, able to cast at a considerable distance and manage ballasts up to 130g. Its length (just under 5 mt in compliance with the regulations) allows the use of particularly long terminals or the use of more hooks on the same line. In the latter case with the use of a single rod you will have more chances of capture. The tip remains always very sensitive and able to detect even the smallest shoals. The rod has a very small section and is very well balanced thanks to the new “Balance Optimizer” system that provides for the use of special components and rings with “Ultra Light” structure, in fact we must not forget that we have a disadvantageous lever of almost 1 mt more than the classic surf rods. All the composite elements are built with the most valuable carbon fibers High module and High resistance, while the rings are made of Alconite and SIC on the most stressed parts. In the terminal part of the stock a comfortable knob and a painting with high grip ensure a firm grip. The rod comes standard with a quality cap. Mangusta is entirely made in Italy in the Italcanna factories, and therefore with easy availability of every smallest spare part.

Italcanna guarantees that all the rods in this catalog are absolutely produced in Italy in its own production site in Lucca, starting from the mother carbon fiber that is used to make every single shaft.
Made in Italy means not only the choice of the best materials, but also the certainty of assistance and spare parts even on older products.
In fact, we always keep the moulds necessary for the realization of a certain article.
Italian production also means that the product you are using has been developed by expert fishermen for our seas, for our seabeds, and for our fishing techniques, and is therefore not an article that for market needs must necessarily be suitable for several countries.

The choice of materials

Having a direct relationship production-user, we feel obliged to always use the best materials, because we answer in first person of the materials used, unlike manufacturers who reselling to multinationals have the sole purpose of offering a sufficient product at a lower price to avoid that they turn to others, and certainly do not specify the raw materials used.
A clear example of this is the carbon fiber, in the graph on the side you can see different types of fibers in class HR which as you can see all have a similar modulus value, but very different values of resistance to traction, this means that a rod made with fiber A (our choice) will have the same rigidity and weight sensation as one made with fiber C (less expensive), therefore apparently equal, however under a greater traction effort the one with fiber C will break much sooner.
